Hertfordshire Support Group

About this group

The group meetings are a place where you can find support and information in a relaxed and friendly environment. They are also open to anyone with a friend or loved one with endometriosis and who wants to find out more about the condition and perhaps how to provide support to that person.

With endometriosis it can feel as though you are alone as many people struggle to understand it. Meeting other people who are going through what you are, both physically and emotionally, can help to reduce, or even take way, that isolation. You may also find you make some great friends!

General Session Information

I hold meetings every other month, usually in Hertford or Welwyn. Although sometimes we focus on a particular topic they are informal, just turn up and have a chat. If you are unsure you can just listen - there is never any expectation that people contribute in any particular way. Our Facebook group is very active - follow the link to join.

Meet the Support Group Leader(s)

I have been leading the Hertfordshire Support Group since 2014. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2009 after an operation to remove a suspected ovarian cyst. With hindsight I had had symptoms for years. Finding the Endometriosis UK website was a turning point in my then very limited understanding of the condition. I also found this support group, which I attended long before I took on leading it. I found it such a relief to meet other people who were going through what I was. I have also made friends for life!
