Join us for Black History Month

Join us for Black History Month this October- a time for action and a time for change.
"This Black History Month, Endometriosis UK will be celebrating the achievements of our volunteers and trustees from black communities, who despite their own challenging experiences of living with endometriosis and often fighting for a diagnosis and against taboo and stigma, use their experience to help others.

It’s also a time of reflection and action, as Endometriosis UK is working with the black community to improve our services and support. We recently conducted a survey and a series of focus groups so we can greater understand the needs of the black community and how we can do more. We want to ensure we represent all voices, and amplify those from black communities.

A lack of research into endometriosis is worse in underserved groups including those from black communities, and we're calling on the Government to address research data gaps including: effectiveness of different treatments, experience of endometriosis in underserved groups including those from the black community. We call on Governments across the UK to address this.

We will fight for a fairer health system, so that race and stigma do not play a part in ensuring everyone with the disease has access to the right care at the right time.

Stand with us this Black History Month and beyond in calling for change. Please keep an eye on our blog and social media channels this October for some incredible stories.
