Angela Style steps down as Endometriosis UK Chair

After six years, Angela Style has reached the end of her term as Chair of Endometriosis UK.  We'd like to say a huge thank you to the contribution Angela has made to the charity, and the huge impact she has helped us make. We are delighted that Liz Campbell has taken on the role, read our interview with Liz here.

Commenting on her time at Endometriosis UK, Angela said:

"It has been an enormous privilege to serve as the Chair of Endometriosis UK for the last six years. Endometriosis UK is a small charity, with a big mission – with our volunteers at the very heart of the huge changes we have overseen for women with endometriosis during this time. Endometriosis has rightly become a political issue, thanks to everyone who is part of Endometriosis UK driving the agenda forward.

I am incredibly proud of the women who run our support services, tell their stories, and fundraise for us to help improve the lives of the 1.5million with endometriosis in the UK. I have been told on many occasions that our support services have changed people’s lives, and it’s thanks to our volunteers, despite their own pain and fatigue, that we continue to be there for even more women every year.

As a charity, we have overseen huge changes in the last six years - from politicians, the media, and workplaces having conversations about menstrual health, to changing the school curriculum in England to include menstrual wellbeing, and helping shape the way care is delivered through working with various partners across the healthcare sector. We have undoubtedly put the foundations in place to work towards a future where the next generation of women won’t be as let down as the last.

There is still a long way to go to ensure women with endometriosis are given the right care at the right time. We need to reduce diagnosis times, improve treatment options, and call for more research to find the answers future generations need to help manage their condition. I look forward to seeing the charity grow even further to make this happen over the years to come.

A huge thank you also goes to the staff team, and my fellow trustees, who work so hard to increase our impact.”
