For a number of years, March has been Endometriosis Awareness Month. While this has been a successful initiative, allowing us to reach new audiences and spread knowledge about the challenges of living with endometriosis, we know that awareness only goes so far.
What those with endometriosis need and deserve is tangible action and positive changes which improve their wellbeing. That’s why we’ve decided that March 2022 will be Endometriosis Action Month.
Here are some of the things to look forward to:
- Awareness raising will be a big part of Action Month, just like in other years , but we’ll also launch a list of key actions for people to take to secure change for the better
- We’ll be launching public campaigns to improve endometriosis diagnosis and care across the UK
- There will be virtual events held in Westminster, the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Senedd and the Northern Ireland Assembly
- Worldwide EndoMarch is taking place on 26 March – find out more
We’re really looking forward to sharing more information as March approaches. And, of course, you don’t have to wait until then to get involved; we’re running the 1 in 10 Challenge, which is a great way to fundraise and start new conversations about endometriosis. Emma Cox, CEO of Endometriosis UK, said: “March is a really important month for the endometriosis community. We’re really grateful to everyone who has helped make noise and spread awareness of endometriosis in previous years, and we can’t wait to get going with Endometriosis Action Month this year.”
