Helen North, Chief Executive of Endometriosis UK, has announced that she will be stepping down from her role at the end of June 2014.
Helen North will be stepping down from her role as Chief Executive due to family commitments after four challenging years, during the course of which she has achieved so much for Endometriosis UK.
Interviews to find her replacement are well underway. Helen officially relinquishes her responsibilities at the end of June but will retain a watching brief until her successor is in place.
Helen said, “I am very sad to be leaving Endometriosis UK. It has been a hard but fantastic journey and I have been privileged to have met and worked with so many wonderful people. I wish all the staff, volunteers, supporters and all those who use the charity’s services the very best for the future.”
Chair Trevor Dahl added, “Helen has been a determined and passionate leader. Her legacy is a strong office team, and a leaner, fitter charity with the infrastructure in place for growth. She has fostered strong links with the medical profession and the NHS, in particular with the BSGE (British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) and the Royal College of Nursing. Amongst many significant achievements, this year she has been instrumental in gaining the backing of the Scottish Parliament for substantially improving services north of the border.
It has been our good fortune to have Helen championing our cause. I know you will all join me in thanking Helen for her great contribution and wishing her and her family well for the future.”
Jane Hudson-Jones has been appointed as the new CEO and will take the role from the end July. Her background includes both NHS and voluntary sector experience.
