Yesterday was the big day for our fabulous Brighton Marathon runners. Five Endometriosis UK supporters slogged their way through the 26.2 mile long course in drizzly weather, while one runner took on the Brighton 10km run taking place on the same day.
Today our runners may be nursing sore knees and tired feet, but can be reassured that their fantastic efforts were worth it!
Our six fabulous runners have raised between them more than £4,500 so far!
That could help us run two support groups for an entire year!
Many of our runners yesterday have battled with endometriosis and completing the marathon was a massive personal achievement.
Susan has suffered from Endometriosis for 18 years, which has had massive impact on her life. Completing the marathon has shown her how strong she is and now she can't wait to do another one!
"When I had completed it I was really, really pleased. When my endo was at it's worst I couldn't have done this... I would really like to do another marathon now, I have the bug!"
- Susan
Carol ran the Marathon in a pink tutu and pink wig and managed to beat the time she took to run the race last year. Carol was diagnosed with endometriosis last year after struggling through 8 years of pain. After her diagnosis, she became determined to raise awareness of endometriosis and raise money for Endometriosis UK.
Thank you to all our Brighton Marathon runners!
Our fundraisers mean the world to us and are vital in helping us provide support and information to women with endometriosis.
Every penny you raise will help make a difference!
