Take part in our survey to help us find out how long it takes to get a diagnosis of endometriosis in the UK, and your experiences during the diagnosis process. We want to hear from you if you've had a diagnosis, if you're going through the diagnosis process or if you have suspected endometriosis, so we can see what your experiences are.
This survey will provide accurate, up to date information about how long the diagnosis process currently takes across the UK, how that has changed over time, and any differences across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We’ll use the information in our lobbying and campaigning work to drive down diagnosis time and improve access to care.
It is all too easy for decision makers, such as in Parliament or the NHS, to assume that this has improved over time – we want to be able to demonstrate if it has, or if it hasn’t. From those who contact our helpline, webchat and support groups, we do hear examples of excellent and prompt diagnosis with symptoms being recognised straight away, whilst others sadly spend many years trying to get a name for their symptoms and suffering. The Covid pandemic has resulted in significant increases in waiting times in gynaecology, and we know many are struggling to access the care and treatment they need. By sharing your experience, you will help us shout loudly for the changes that are needed.
The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Responses are completely anonymous, we are not asking for any personal or contact details that can identify you.
