The APPG on Endometriosis has been re-formed

We are delighted to announce that the All-Party-Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Endometriosis has been officially re-formed and re-registered in Parliament. The Group will be chaired by Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP, and you can view a full list of Officers and other Members of the APPG here. Endometriosis UK is also delighted to have been re-elected as Secretariat, and we will continue to provide admin support to the APPG through the provision of minutes and supporting the organisation of meetings and events.

The Group held its Inaugural Meeting in Parliament in October and had a fantastic turnout from Members of both Houses and from across Parties, demonstrating the overwhelming support for endometriosis in Parliament. The Group has started work straight away by writing to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, prior to the Autumn Budget, to highlight the compelling case for investing in endometriosis care.

The Group was originally established in 2018 by the late Sir David Amess, and brings together MPs and Peers from all political parties to ensure endometriosis remains high up on the political agenda. The Group has been a leading voice for those with endometriosis in Parliament, and in 2020 launched an inquiry and report into endometriosis, that highlighted the urgent need for the Government to step up and improve care for the 1.5million women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis in the UK.

Now the Group has been officially reformed, it will meet 2-3 times a year and will focus on issues affecting the endometriosis community, discussing new policy solutions and ways the Government can improve care. You can find out more about the APPG here.
