Hello, my name is Jane Dawson; I am group leader for the Milnthorpe Endometriosis Support Group.
Painful periods have been a part of my life since my teens. Every month would be a torturous experience. This persisted over several years, eventually I met a doctor who took me seriously and referred me to a gynaecologist at the local hospital. The consultant diagnosed endometriosis.
Now almost 12 years on, I feel great and have a normal life - it is good to be on the right side of being well again.
The group is structured around informal meetings offering mutual support and information. There will be informal talks on diet, employment matters and complementary therapies, etc. This will be a friendly discussion group highlighting awareness and fundraising ventures. I would like to invite occasional speakers to the groups depending on the requirements and interests of the members.
Venue: Milnthorpe Children's Centre, Firs Road, Milnthorpe. Cumbria
Everyone is welcome to join. Meetings will take place every 2 -3 months
