Lauren and Chick

“I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2008 at the age of 17. Since then I have had two lots of surgery and a concoction of painkillers. I wanted to run for Endo UK to raise awareness of a disease that needs more attention.”

Lauren and her boss Chick ran the Bath half marathon in March 2016, in aid of Endometriosis UK. A charity close to Lauren’s heart, having been diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of seventeen, she tells us:

"It was great to run for a fantastic charity very close to my heart. Having been diagnosed with endometriosis in 2008, and having a severe flare-up in 2015 that led to my second round of surgery, for me running the Bath Half Marathon was a chance to prove to myself that I would never be beaten. The atmosphere at the Bath Half was fantastic with supporters lining the whole route - they really help you through those last few tough miles!"

Chick was there alongside her:

“Great to be able to run in support of such an important charity working hard to raise awareness of an often over-looked serious and debilitating condition.  The atmosphere at the Bath Half is also inspirational, running with 15,000 others, many of whom are also raising funds for good causes, and encouraged by 30,000 supporters on the route.”

Their current fundraising total stands at a whopping £1,269, nearly £800 over their expected total! You can add your donation to this incredible total via Lauren’s JustGiving site

Lauren and Chick, from all of us here at Endometriosis UK, a big thank you! We couldn’t support those suffering with endometriosis without amazing fundraisers like yourselves.
